Faithful Reflections: Finding Freedom from Addiction

Story
I once knew someone who battled addiction. It started as an escape, a way to numb the pain. But soon, the substance controlled their life, their choices, their relationships. Every time they tried to break free, the pull seemed stronger. They felt stuck—ashamed, hopeless, and unworthy of change.

One day, they came across 2 Corinthians 12:9:
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

They realized they didn’t have to fight alone. God wasn’t waiting to condemn them—He was reaching out with love, grace, and strength. The journey wasn’t easy, but with faith, support, and surrender, freedom was possible.

Insight
Addiction can feel like an unbreakable chain, but God is a chain-breaker. He doesn’t see you as your mistakes—He sees you as His beloved child. John 8:36 reminds us:
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

Healing takes time, but with God, transformation is possible. Are you willing to take that step of faith, trusting that He can bring you out of darkness and into freedom?

Prayer
Lord, I come to You weary and broken. I can’t do this on my own. Give me the strength to fight, the courage to seek help, and the faith to believe in Your healing power. Remind me that I am not my past—I am Yours. Walk with me, Lord, and lead me toward freedom. Amen.

Daily Verse
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge."
—Psalm 18:2
