Faithful Reflections: Friday
Faithful Reflections: Seeing Beyond Myself
Story
There was a time when I was so focused on my own struggles that I barely noticed the needs of those around me. But one day, as I prayed for my own burdens, God gently reminded me to look outward. I saw a friend who needed encouragement, a neighbor who longed for kindness, and a stranger who just needed a smile.
Philippians 2:4 says:
"Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."
True joy comes not just from having our needs met, but from being a blessing to others.
Insight
When we shift our focus from “What do I need?” to “How can I serve?” we reflect God’s love. Helping others isn’t always about grand gestures—it’s in the small, everyday moments where we choose kindness, generosity, and compassion.
Proverbs 11:25 reminds us:
"A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed."
When we give of ourselves, God fills us with even greater joy.
Prayer
Lord, open my eyes to the needs of those around me. Help me to move beyond my own worries and be a source of encouragement, kindness, and love. Use me to be a light in someone’s life today. Amen.
Daily Verse
"Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ."
—Galatians 6:2
